The First Year Foundation Incorporated is a non-profit organization in which our leadership group has the main focus of the dramatic reduction of fetal and infant mortality in Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee. We have an even more specific focus within the main focus of helping women to have completely healthy birth outcomes and optimal maternal and reproductive health through the emphasis and execution of fitness, health and wellness, and proper nutrition. We are on a very aggressive growth track. We are exploring the possibilities of expanding in metropolitan Baltimore; Columbus, Ohio; Milwaukee; and San Antonio in just over seven years from now. Our logo is symbolic in three ways. The first is that the arrows are used to represent the Circle of Life. The second is that the number 4 is used to represent the number of core values that we have and uphold: compassion, humility, integrity, and synergy. The third is that the number 4 is used to represent the number of community outreach programs that we have. The fourth is that the colors of our logo, green and purple, are used to promote and represent infant mortality awareness.
